Location: Moroto Regional Office
Job Role: Monitor the implementation of Social Behavioral Change, Communication, Gender and Community engagement interventions in line within LPHS – Karamoja anecca standard operating procedures and best practices.
Key Result Areas
1. Develop and monitor the implementation of a consolidated & harmonized regional work plans & budgets for SBCC, community and Gender project activities with the directorate objectives and financial procedures.
2. Monitor the implementation of community-based projects activities aimed at preventing gender-based violence in line with community and gender-based violence best practices and anecca standard operating procedures.
3. Develop and monitor the implementation of SBCC campaigns that resonate with diverse communities and drive meaningful behavioral changes in line with SBCC best practices& guidelines.
4. Establish and network with various stakeholders, including local authorities, NGOs, and community leaders, to strengthen anecca’s impact in addressing societal challenges.
5. Document best practices for community engagement, conduct research and assessments to refine and improve SBCC, Community& Gender interventions & best practices in with anecca research guidelines.
6. Build capacity of community structures to establish/strengthen patient tracking system in all the supported health facilities for retention purposes and periodically track its functionality then come up with interventions to curb the identified gaps in line with project objectives for MCH and HIV/AIDs.
7. Monitor the implementation of periodic performance targets program and then write and submit data driven periodic reports & success stories to key stakeholders in line with project objectives for SBCC, Community &Geder program activities.
8. Review community linkage activities with involvement of all key stakeholders including; District Health teams, linkage coordinators, facilitators, health workers and KP/PP support groups to execute their roles and responsibilities by participating in HIV, SBCC, Gender interventions activities in the community and health facilities.
9. Build the Capacity of different stakeholders to provide technical psychosocial support in the Identification, documentation and referral/follow up of identified ‘Sexual and gender-based violence’ victims in the face of HIV/AIDS in the community in line with anecca -Uganda’s objectives for HIV & Gender main streaming
10. Write and submit regular monthly, quarterly, annual SBCC, Community& Gender interventions reports in line the anecca- Uganda Program reporting procedures
Required Education Training, Experience, other relevant skills& personality attributes
• A Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, Development Studies, Community psychology, public health or related discipline.
• A minimum of 5 years’ work experience implementing and coordinating donor funded programs at district and sub-national levels.
• At least 3 years’ capacity building experience for individuals, groups or NGOs in Health service delivery is highly desired.
• Ability to network and interrelate with government facilities/departments, NGO and other stakeholders when providing technical assistance to the beneficiaries.
• Demonstrated level of Integrity, Emotional control, Confidentiality and Openness, Team player, ability to work under minimum supervision
• Experience and ability to work in hard-to-reach areas like Karamoja Region
